We want to take a moment to tell you about some of the great music, performances and experiences that will be happening at Boston Decompression 2015: Mimesis! However, before anything else we must implore that you go get your tickets to Mimesis right now because online ticket sales are on pace to sell out well before this weekend! Also, we need your Burning Man and regional burn photos! (think Firefly, Nectar, T’fus, etc.) We will be curating a slideshow of photos taken over the past year on some of the closed circuit TV panels around the venue, and we would love to include YOUR photos. Please email them to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to have them included.

Call for Participation in "Mimesis!"

Contribute Art, Music Performance, Volunteering, more!

Boston Decompression 2015: Mimesis will be a night of art, music, performance and experience, both surreal and unreal. Decompression is an all-volunteer effort; to make this event a success we need YOU and an army of your clones to build, design, fabricate, play, perform, set up and create. There are many ways you can help; please review the diverse variants in participation below. Let’s make Mimesis a reflection of the best in all of us!

Call For Art and Deco

If you would like to bring an art piece or a theme-based deco project, please fill out this form for the Art committee to get your art/deco piece placed at Mimesis. Note, there will be an venue visit/walk-through on Tuesday, October 13th, at 7:30 PM. Please consider coming to check out the space and visualize how your piece will fit: Art Submission Form

Call for Music

If you or your band would like to play or perform music (this includes DJing) please fill out this form to have the Music committee review and evaluate your submission. All submissions will need to include a link to an online demo or mix to be reviewed. Please do this now, as music submission will need to close by Sunday October 18th so that we can put together a lineup: Music Submission Form

Call for Performances

If you’d like to do a non-music (non-band, non-DJ) performance then please email your idea to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The Performance committee will be in touch to help make your performance at Mimesis a reality.

Call for Volunteers

If you’d like to help make Mimesis happen by volunteering to do one of the many jobs and tasks required to make this all volunteer effort happen, good for you (!) and please send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Please include your name, phone number, when you would be able to volunteer (setup, breakdown, during the event, day before, day after), and what, if any, special skills you may have that would be helpful.

Call for Skill Share

Would you like to teach a class and kick off our evening with some reflective learning? They say imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. Help others hone their skills by teaching a class in yoga, flow arts, or perhaps something so clever we haven't thought of it yet. Classes will take place the first hour of the event. We need YOU to Volunteer at Decompression 2014!

It will take many to build The Lost City

Boston is building The Lost City on November 8th and we need you to get down and dirty to help make it happen!

Help make this Boston's biggest and best Decompression. No matter who you are or what your skills may be—or how much time you may have—you can play an integral part in making this event an unbelievable success.

We want YOU! If you're interested in participating in one or more of the below roles, contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or fill out this form and our friendly Volunteer Wranglers will get you sorted.

Set up:

Help us transform “Who's On First?” into The Lost City. This includes preparing and decorating the venue, unloading the art and gear trucks, as well as potentially assisting artists in setting up their installations. Transformation of the space will be an all-day affair, so every hand helps. (Time commitment: 3 hours or more prior to the event)

It's not just a "Burning Man" event because of those 10 Principles or all those eye-popping costumes. It's because everyone who enters Boston Decompression is welcomed with open arms—literally. Ok, hugs are entirely optional but if you want to play an active role in ensuring all participants feel as if they truly belong from the time they walk in, you will absolutely love being a Greeter. (Time commitment: 1 hour during the event)

If you love arranging the food on your plate or just like to play with your food, this job is for you. Our snack buffet table will feed carnivores and herbivores throughout the night, and we need individuals to help not only with setup, but replenishment throughout the evening. (Time commitment: 1–2 hours before event, or a 2 hour maintenance shift during the event)

Strike / Leave No Trace:

We set up and we break down—and leave everything better than we found it. Beginning at 1AM in the alley and in the garage, we need many organized hands to help take down all decor and installations, as well as heavy lifting hands to reload the art truck. Boston Decompression is a Leave No Trace event, so we also need hands to do MOOP/trash sweeps during breakdown. (Time commitment: 2-3 hours after the event)

Art Truck Load In - Friday evening:

Art Truck Unload - Sunday:

You love moving heavy things and you enjoy working up a sweat, but you can load and unload objects into a truck with the finesse of a world-class puzzle master. Help Friday evening, Sunday, or both days and party in between. Load in and unload will be at several stops in Boston and Somerville, so having your own transportation or a ride is necessary. (Time commitment: 2-4 hours on Friday evening, 2 hours on Sunday)

Fill out this form to get started!

Thanks for being awesome!
